Factors and Multiples -Tuesday the 24th Mathematics

 An explanation of factors and multiples

example
2x3=6

2 and 3 are factors of 6
(there are other factors of 6 as well - 1 and 6)

6 is a multiple of 3 because if you multiply a number with 3, one of the answers you get is 6
(think 3 times tables -  3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18 ...........)

6 is also a multiple of 2 (2. 4. 6. 8. 10 ......)

Choose a starting number from the 1-100 square and cross it out.
Then choose a single factor or multiple of that number.
Keep crossing out factors or multiples of the last number in the chain.
For example, Charlie started with 60, 30, 6, 96, 16, 32, 8, 56, 7, 21, 42,...
What's the longest chain you can make?
